On April 20th we gathered to celebrate the start of construction on the Thom Storm Chalet renovation and expansion. After partnering with the City of Duluth and LHB, we are excited to welcome BP Builders to the team! This groundbreaking was the ceremonial beginning of the project. You can expect to start to see changes to the site and the Chalet within the next few weeks. Construction is scheduled to be complete in advance of the coming winter ski and snowboard season! It is hard to imagine, but less than eight months from now, we will be drinking hot chocolate and eating gummy bears in the new space.
We are so grateful for the financial support of the community to get us to this point. We have had over 1,000 different people give to the Growing Up Chester campaign! We leveraged this support into a $2.3 million State grant through the Environmental and Natural Resources and Trust Fund, which allowed us to move into the final design and now the construction phase.
We are almost at the finish line, but we still need your support. We have $275,000 left to raise, and a goal of raising $100,000 of that amount by May 21. We made our first steps towards that goal at the groundbreaking today when two middle school boys together donated $15 of their own money right then and there! Will you follow their lead? Please donate to Chester Bowl today to support the Thom Storm Chalet renovation and expansion project, and your impact will last for generations! Look for the green “Donate” button at the top right of this page to give online or see details on donating by check.
