On Monday, January 22nd, Loll Designs presented Chester Bowl with a check for $20,000 to support the Growing Up Chester campaign to renovate and expand the Chalet. Set against a backdrop of kids enjoying the hill on a day off from school, the joy on the hill matched the potential for future growth at Chester Bowl. This is the fourth year that Loll has donated to Chester Bowl, for a total of $95,000!
Their donations to Chester Bowl are part of their commitment to 1% For The Planet, committed to keeping the planet blue and green (and white during the winter!). Loll Designs is thinking globally and acting locally by donating 1% of all Lollygagger collection sales annually to environmental organizations like Chester Bowl.
Loll CEO Eric Swanson stated that “Chester Bowl’s commitment to encouraging Duluth youth to get outside and appreciate the outdoors is why we’re excited to donate to Chester Bowl for our fourth consecutive year as part of our 1% For the Planet pledge. The donation to the Growing Up Chester Campaign ensures the youth in Duluth can foster an early love for being outdoors. We’re proud to be able to help current and future Duluthians enjoy Chester Bowl with this contribution towards the Growing Up Chester Campaign for updates to the Thom Storm Chalet and supporting youth outdoor programs, and we are thrilled we’re able to make such an impact in our hometown because we believe in thinking globally but acting locally with our philanthropy.”
Chester Bowl Executive Director Dave Schaeffer says, “Chester Bowl has big dreams and a vision for a Chalet that will serve the community for generations to come. But that vision can only be achieved with strong community support. We are so grateful to Loll Designs, which has been our strongest supporter in the Growing Up Chester campaign, for providing generous multi-year funding to help us turn our dreams into reality.”
