Chester Bowl is excited to announce The Bernick Family Foundation selected Chester Bowl as a recipient for a $25,000 grant. This year, the Bernick Family Foundation received requests totaling $364,350 in funding for projects throughout their 7 territories in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The CBIC is thrilled to be one of the 10 programs selected in the Bernick Service Area for support.
Jason Bernick, Bernick’s Director of Corporate Affairs, says, “Bernick’s is honored to support Chester Bowl through the Bernick Family Foundation in making outdoor recreation accessible to families across the Duluth Community for generations to come. Our focus areas are Youth and Education and Health and Fitness, so Chester Bowl’s programs were a great fit on both fronts. Our support will help ensure families enjoy the outdoors together for many years.”
Bernick presented Chester Bowl volunteers, board members and families with the generous donation on Sunday, February 27th just before the start of the Chester Bowl ski and snowboard races. Chester Bowl Executive Director Dave Schaeffer said, “At Chester Bowl, we believe that skiing, snowboarding, and summer camp should be accessible to anyone, regardless of income or other barriers. And as a nonprofit, we are uniquely able to make sure that any family can be part of the Chester Bowl and outdoor recreation communities. But we can only do that with the support of supporters like the Bernick Family Foundation, and we are so grateful for their generosity. Their gift will allow all families to participate in Chester Bowl programs through an expanded and renovated Chalet for generations to come.”
